Pocket Doll

These are so fun to use in an altered book or just to give to your favorite friend :)

Get Pattern

First you will need to print your pattern. If you try to print it from the web it will not print the right size. So you will need to save it to your computer. Most of my images will fit in this pocket but because I chose Becky I enlarged my pattern 20%.

If you are running windows save your pattern by right clicking on the picture of the pattern. A box will pop up with a list of options. Choose "Save picture as". Now another box will pop up. Choose where you would like the picture to be saved. My documents is a good place. Once you have that done choose "Save". Any photo program will work to open and print the pattern. Open your photo program then look for the icon to open a picture file you saved from the tool bar of that program. If you don't have any photo program you can use "mspaint". This use to be under "Accessories" on your start menu but the new xp doesn't have it in the accessories anymore. It is still on your computer though so to use it, go to your start button on your computer. When the menu pops up look for search. Once you have search open click on the arrow that says "All files and folders" type in "paint' in the box and click on the search button. A list of files will form in the white area to the right. Look for "mspaint" then click on that and windows paint will open. You can open the file and print it with that.click on "File" and then "Open". Look for where you stored the picture. You should be looking for "pocket.jpg" unless you have renamed it. When the image is on your screen just click on the "Print" icon. Print it on standard white computer paper. To begin use a repositionable glue stick on the backside of your computer paper pattern. Stick it to a scrap piece of paper to remove any excess glue. After it has been stuck once any glue that is going to come off will. Now stick it to your cardstock and cut it out and score the score lines. Remove the pattern and your ready to start stamping

Stamp the pocket as desired. Stamp your "doll" onto cardstock making sure to leave enough room for the stand at the bottom of your image. Once colored glue your "doll" to a piece of matt board and cut it out...don't forget to leave the stand. Also cut another strip for the stands cross section. Embellish your doll as desired and place it in the pocket.
